Late night....sore throat

Why do I stay up late on weekends? My kids still wake up the same time. Why do I do that to myself. I know hubby was ripping songs to his MP3 (which he filled already and is trying to figure out what songs he could lose so he could add some new stuff) so I did too. I'm up to 110 songs. I can't believe I put that many on. LOL. But then in a moment of brilliance we started watching Talladega Nights at 11 pm. It was 2 am before I was laying in bed.

I should have suggested he NOT put the movie in because I know his obsessive need to watch a movie from beginning to end.

I've had a sore throat these past couple days and it's worse today, no doubt due to me sorely lacking sleep. Am I looking forward to the routine of the weekday sleep schedule? I hope I don't have what Finished Last (Mr. Nice Guy) had. I know I can't get illness from blogland but I know he got pretty sick with strep (btw, I hope you're feeling all better now.)

Okay..... I'm off to cut my boys hair. Did I mention I'm a barber too? LOL

Hmmm...I have the same obsession about movies, it's a "Man Thing." I also can't have any interruptions or distractions. Needless to say I don't watch many movies...good thing I'm not like that with books - those I can put down and come back too.

Hubby can stop to get a drink, beer, snack or bathroom break but he CAN NOT watch a movie with the kids around (unless it's a kid movie.) He can't tune them out.

P.S. I hope you really enjoy your new Beetle. My wife bought a brand new silver VW Cabrio GLX in 2002, fully loaded with heated leather seats, she got to drive it for 2 years until we had to trade it for the minivan. We almost had to pry the keys out her cold dead hands. To this day she doesn't forgive any of us. I've had to promise her a BMW convertible on our youngests 18th birthday. To be honest even though the Cabrio is a real chick car...I miss it too -- nothing like fine German engineering. Though the Nissan has a factory installed DVD player and video game system for the kids... we make such trade offs in life LOL!!!!

The 'shake annnnnnd bake' comment made me giggle out loud (is that GOL?)

I need to add this movie to my quotable comedies list.

"If you ain't first...you're last."

"Ricky Boooby." (that guy freaked me out. LOL)

"Dear baby Jesus. Dear 8 # 6 ounce tiny infant....." and all the others.

"Ricky Bobby: 98% of people will die sometime in their lives."

and of course.....

"Help me, Jesus! Help me, Jewish God! Help me, Allah! Help me, Tom Cruise! Tom Cruise, use your witchcraft to get the fire off me! Help me, Oprah Winfrey!"

Ohhh I laughed. Funny stuff.

P.S. to your P.S......

I can't justify spending the money on a new car for me. We own the fine 11 year old plymouth voyager (some day I'll post pics of the hot vehicle...hee hee) and with my not earning any money and things tight.... *sigh* the beetle shall wait. Hubby is dieing to get me my car, he says I'll be cute in it. The kids want it and I even had the lease ready to sign but walked away.

I have to wait, I can't overburden the family. If I sell my novel then.....I'll buy it outright!!!

Hey I hope you don't either . It is no fun. I am feeling better but not all better yet. The antibiotics are starting to kick in. Hopefully by tomorrow things will be ship shape. Thanks for your good wishes and here are some back atcha
(BTW I just paid $1700 to get a new transmission on our Voyager, only 7 years old, but it is still way cheaper than a new one)

Thanks for the well wishes FL. I truly appreciate them. I didn't feel like eating much tonight. On the upside maybe I'll lose some weight. hahaha. I did do the treadmill today which isn't a good idea when you don't feel good. Hopefully after a good nights sleep I'll feel better. (here's to hoping.)

I keep telling hubby that a few hundred dollars in repairs a year is still cheaper than $400 a MONTH. I mean I only drive around town, which isn't much. I'd love the beetle but it isn't worth it.

The biggest problem with the van is that when it's really really cold out and you use the heater it gives off a horrible, choking gas smell. We took it to get fixed and were told it would cost $150 to diagnose it. We went ahead and told them to do it. Then it cost another $150 to supposedly 'fix' the problem. It is still doing it so I called the repair shop (since I handle all the car repair items, meaning I know too much about cars since I can actually intelligently communicate about such things as rotars, drums, master cylinders and such....grrr) The repair place said that what they repaired was one of like 7 possible locations.

I said to the guy, "But I paid $150 for you to DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM! Doesn't that mean they would KNOW which location would BE the problem? Hubby worries that the van will catch on fire killing us all. I'm trying to convince him to let me have someone else look at it and fix it. Then it would be safe and free (minus the repairs. LOL)

Holy long comment.
